Before a difficult conversation
You know something needs to be said, and your body is already preparing for conflict. A short practice can help you notice the reaction, remember what matters, and enter the conversation with more choice.
Relationships
Relationships can continue inside us long after the other person has left the room. A conversation replays, an old hurt returns, or the urge to respond arrives before you know what you want to say. Meditation cannot decide what a relationship needs, but it can give you room to meet your part of the moment more clearly.
Where practice may meet you
01
You know something needs to be said, and your body is already preparing for conflict. A short practice can help you notice the reaction, remember what matters, and enter the conversation with more choice.
02
The exchange has ended, but you are still answering it in your head. Grounding in present sensation can interrupt the rehearsal long enough to feel what is underneath it.
03
Longing, grief, resentment, and care can exist together. Loving-kindness or contemplation can make room for that complexity without asking you to excuse harm or force forgiveness.
Nella's approach
Nella will not tell you what another person meant or what your relationship should become. A session can help you separate the feeling from the first reaction, notice the values you want to bring, and return to the next conversation with greater clarity.
An intention you might bring
“I keep replaying an argument with someone I care about. I have ten minutes and want to understand what I am feeling before I decide whether to respond.”
Ways to practice
No technique is right for every person or every day. These are useful places to begin.
Create a session
Tell Nella what you need and how much time you have. It will prepare the guidance.
