Loving-kindness

Loving-kindness practices friendliness as a direction of mind through simple, believable phrases.

01

How to practice

Begin where goodwill is easiest to access and offer a few plain wishes for safety, steadiness, or ease. Widen the circle only when it feels honest. The phrases are intentions, not magic words.

02

What it is not

The practice does not require warmth on demand, excuse harm, or force forgiveness. It trains an orientation of non-hostility while leaving room for boundaries, grief, and difficult truth.

03

When phrases feel difficult

Use language you can mean, even if it is modest: “May I meet this moment with care” may feel more honest than wishing for complete ease. You can begin with a trusted person, an animal, or the simple intention not to add hostility.

Practice this technique with guidance.

Choose it in Nella and set the time you have. Add an intention if something specific is on your mind.
