Searcherbase, LLC (“Searcherbase”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates Nella, a meditation app that uses user preferences, practice history, journaling, large language models, and text-to-speech systems to provide personalized guided meditation sessions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use Nella, visit our website, contact us, or otherwise interact with us.

Nella is a meditation and self-reflection product. It is not a medical, therapeutic, psychiatric, crisis, or emergency service.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

We collect information you provide directly to Nella, including:

• Account information, such as your email address, authentication identifiers, and sign-in method.
• Onboarding and preference information, such as meditation influences, experience level, session duration, focus area, practice context, voice choices, notification settings, reminder time, and timezone.
• Intentions, including short text you write to guide your practice.
• Journal entries, including titles, body text, dates, and any reflections you choose to write after or between sessions.
• Session feedback, including thumbs-up or thumbs-down ratings and optional notes.
• Support and legal communications, including information you include when you contact us.

Please use care when writing intentions, journal entries, feedback, or support messages. These fields may contain sensitive personal information if you choose to include it.

Information generated through your use of Nella

We generate or store information needed to operate the app, including:

• Meditation sessions, such as generated session scripts, session titles, descriptions, teacher summaries, audio storage references, session status, dates, and listen/start timestamps.
• Teacher memory and personalization signals, such as observations, summaries, embeddings, and related records derived from your intentions, journal entries, feedback, and session history. These help Nella personalize future sessions without treating the app as therapy or diagnosis.
• Billing and entitlement records, such as subscription status, platform, billing provider identifiers, expiration dates, billing event identifiers, and webhook payloads needed to verify access.
• Technical and usage data, such as app version, device and operating-system information, request identifiers, API logs, crash and error reports, screens or features used, lifecycle events, paywall events, and analytics session identifiers.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from third parties that help us provide Nella, including:

• Authentication providers, such as Apple or Google, when you choose to sign in through them.
• App stores and billing providers, such as Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat, for subscription status, purchase events, entitlement management, and purchase restoration.
• Analytics and error-reporting providers, such as PostHog, for product analytics, diagnostics, crash reporting, and session replay. Nella configures session replay to mask text and images.
• Attribution and measurement providers and advertising platforms that help attribute app installs, measure campaign performance, report subscription conversions, and optimize customer acquisition.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and secure Nella.
• Create and personalize guided meditation sessions.
• Generate session scripts, summaries, and audio.
• Maintain your account, preferences, practice history, journals, intentions, and subscription entitlements.
• Remember relevant practice context so future sessions can be more useful.
• Process subscription access, purchase restoration, refunds, billing support, and fraud prevention.
• Send transactional messages and respond to support, legal, or account requests.
• Send local practice reminders when you enable notifications.
• Debug errors, monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve app quality.
• Analyze aggregate usage, retention, and feature performance.
• Attribute app installs and subscription revenue to marketing campaigns, measure advertising performance, and optimize customer-acquisition campaigns.
• Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, safety, and property of Searcherbase, our users, and others.

We do not sell your journal entries, intentions, or meditation content. We do not use your practice content for third-party advertising.

3. Journaling, AI, and personalization

Nella is personalized by design. To generate and improve your meditation experience, we may send relevant portions of your profile, preferences, intentions, journal entries, feedback, teacher memory, and session history to AI service providers. These providers process the information on our behalf so Nella can generate scripts, prompts, summaries, embeddings, and narration audio.

Our current AI and audio provider stack may include Google Gemini, Fireworks-hosted language models, OpenAI for embeddings, and Inworld or Google for text-to-speech. We may change providers as the product evolves, but we will continue to use them to operate Nella and not to sell your personal information.

Journals are private to your account in the ordinary operation of the service, but they are not end-to-end encrypted. Searcherbase systems and service providers may process journal content where needed to provide personalization, generate teacher memory, maintain safety and reliability, troubleshoot issues, comply with law, or respond to your requests.

4. How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information:

• To service providers and processors that host infrastructure, provide authentication, storage, analytics, attribution, advertising measurement, error reporting, subscription management, AI generation, text-to-speech, security, and customer support.
• To app stores and billing platforms to process purchases, restore subscriptions, verify entitlements, handle refunds, and prevent fraud.
• For legal and safety reasons, including to comply with law, lawful requests, subpoenas, court orders, or government demands; enforce our terms; investigate abuse; or protect rights, safety, and security.
• In a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
• With your direction or consent, such as when you ask us to share information or connect a third-party feature.
• As aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.

We do not publish your journals, intentions, or generated sessions as community content.

5. Analytics, tracking, and communications

Nella uses analytics to understand whether the app is useful, reliable, and worth returning to. Analytics may include product events, navigation events, purchase funnel events, lifecycle events, device and app information, request identifiers, and crash or exception details.

Nella uses attribution and advertising measurement providers to connect app installs and subscription conversions with marketing campaigns. We may provide limited device and app information, attribution identifiers, campaign information, and conversion events such as onboarding completion, trial start, purchase, trial conversion, and renewal. We do not provide journal entries, intentions, meditation content, or meditation scripts to these providers for attribution or advertising purposes.

We do not use your journal entries, intentions, or meditation content for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where applicable law requires consent or provides an opt-out right for advertising measurement, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling, we will provide the required choice or control.

You can disable push notifications through your device settings. Transactional, account, legal, and support communications may still be sent when necessary to provide the service.

6. Storage, security, and retention

We use technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Nella stores user data using Supabase-managed databases and storage, cloud infrastructure, and related service providers. Generated audio and media may be stored in object storage. AI processing may occur in the systems of the AI providers described above.

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide Nella, maintain your account, personalize your practice, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, and maintain security. In general:

• Account, profile, preference, intention, journal, session, teacher memory, voice, and entitlement data are retained while your account is active.
• Billing and transaction records may be retained as required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, app store, and legal purposes.
• Logs, analytics, crash reports, and security records are retained for a limited period appropriate to their purpose.
• Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained without identifying you.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal information associated with it, except where retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, billing, or legitimate recordkeeping purposes. The time required to process a request can vary, and residual copies may remain in backups until those backups rotate out under their normal schedules. We process privacy-rights requests within the time required by applicable law.

Deleting your Nella account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Subscription cancellation and future billing are controlled by Apple or Google, and you must cancel through the applicable platform to stop future charges.

If you purchased a subscription directly through Nella using RevenueCat Billing, deleting your account deletes the associated RevenueCat customer and immediately cancels that subscription. Billing and transaction records may still be retained where required or permitted for the purposes described above.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; or to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling.

You can request deletion through the app or by following the instructions on our Account & Data Deletion page. You can also contact us at support@searcherbase.app for support requests or legal@searcherbase.app for legal and privacy requests.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. If we deny a request and applicable law gives you an appeal right, you may appeal by emailing legal@searcherbase.app.

8. Children

Nella is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use Nella. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact legal@searcherbase.app and we will take appropriate steps.

9. International data transfers

Searcherbase is based in the United States. We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. Additional notices for U.S. state privacy laws

Some U.S. state privacy laws require additional disclosures. In the past 12 months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information:

• Identifiers, such as email address, account ID, authentication identifiers, device identifiers, request IDs, and analytics IDs.
• Commercial information, such as subscription status, purchase events, entitlement records, product IDs, and transaction-related records.
• Internet or electronic network activity, such as app usage, feature interactions, logs, crash reports, and analytics events.
• Geolocation-like information, such as timezone and approximate location inferred from technical data where available.
• Audio, electronic, or similar information, such as generated meditation audio and support communications you send us.
• Sensitive personal information, if you choose to include it in intentions, journals, feedback, support messages, or practice context.
• Inferences and derived information, such as teacher memory, summaries, embeddings, personalization signals, and practice preferences.

We collect and disclose these categories for the purposes described in this policy. We disclose them to the categories of recipients described in Section 4. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of anyone under 18. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics except as needed to provide and personalize Nella based on information you choose to provide.

11. Additional notices for Europe, the UK, and Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Searcherbase, LLC is the controller of personal information covered by this policy.

Our legal bases may include:

• Contract, to provide Nella and manage your account, sessions, journals, preferences, subscriptions, and support.
• Legitimate interests, to improve Nella, maintain security, prevent abuse, debug issues, analyze product performance, and operate our business.
• Consent, where required for optional features such as notifications or certain communications.
• Legal obligations, to comply with applicable law, accounting, tax, consumer protection, and lawful requests.

You may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to, restrict, or withdraw consent for certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or by email.
